2014 Krampusnacht Event Seeks Donations

Raymond Castile, who won two Tabloid Witch Awards in 2009, is currently raising money for his Kramusnacht project. Castile writes:

"I am leading a group that is working to bring a fun and unique event to St. Louis this holiday season. Saint Louis Krampusnacht will take place Dec. 6 on Cherokee Street. We want this to be like a Mardi Gras for the Christmas season.

"Krampus festivals are springing up around the United States, inspired by similar festivals that have been taking place for decades in the Alpine region of Europe. Our event will include a parade with costumed characters, a pageant/variety show with performance artists and musicians at the 2720 club, and an art exhibit.

"We have launched an Indiegogo campaign to help us pay for the multitude of expenses we are going to encounter. Please look at our campaign page and consider giving us whatever level of donation you can.

"Expenses include street permits, security, first aid, blockades, performer fees, venue fees, costumes, decorations, etc, etc, etc. It's a lot of money, and we are not making a dime off this. We are a nonprofit organization, incorporated with the state of Missouri. (But we are not a federal nonprofit, so donations are not tax deductible.) Everyone on the organizing committee is working for free, donating considerable time and effort to make this happen."
